So as you may know, in September I came back to the University of Surrey to study for my Master's Degree in Music Composition. I was lucky enough to be the recipient of a scholarship and I recently battled through the process of applying for a PhD in Music. I have received an offer (WOOP WOOP) but for me I really need funding otherwise I can't afford to study any longer, so it will be a while before I hear back about that!
Being a student is tough and a Masters is definitely hard work but I also really love having dedicated time to read, write and improve my composition skills. I'm also taking compositional programming so feel like I'm just about getting to grips with Max/MSP. If that wasn't enough for me, I also enrolled to The School of Video Game Audio with Leonard J Paul, on the Pure Data course!
Alongside my studying, I'm also coming to the end of my work on "Carnage in Space: Ignition", looking to be done with the soundtrack in the next couple of months! Just completed a track with the lovely Sam Hughes on guitar. It's also getting to the point in the game where I'm slightly less good at playing it, but I always tremendously appreciate getting to play a current build as it can influence my work so much!
Hope your 2017s are going just as well!
